I googled this when I saw orbs in my pictures I took in church. Could it be the Holy Spirit? I have taken so many flash pics and only in the recent church pics have I first seen them.

Or maybe my Lumix (12MP) is getting old, it's been 3 months.

first of all, the images of orbs in photographs most certainly did occur before the advent of digital cameras.

i have accompanied m.f. "chance" wyatt on many "ghost photography" outings. "chance" does NOT allow digital photographs to be submitted for appraisal, as he feels that the digital images are much easier to manipulate than film negatives. i have also independently captured many "ghost orbs" on digital equipment, and my results are pretty similar on both.

myself being a retired professional photographer and also quite familiar with negative film processing (old school) i can assure you that anyone who works with film can easily tell you the cause of ANY abnormalities that are not part of the original negative. actually, negatives don't lie!

secondly, "chance" is a ghost hunter from MELBOURNE, FLORIDA, not AUSTRAILIA.......

enjoyed your story, though.... cate harris

yeah its a bit weird the water thing. There wouldnt be all that many humans underwater with cameras..so it'd be bit of a waste spending time there as a spirit hoping to get seen. Yeah i think the presence of strane artifacts/spirits in photos was around before digital but they were almost all discounted as they were manufactured by the photographers..or because of the unreliable nature of film. Visualizing auras is another popular photo mystery...although rather worrying if u see yours and its an unfavourable colour!

I'm surprised that it is only with the emergence of digital cameras that we have discovered orbs. I could have sworn that myth was around before then. I'm temepted to try that thought projection experiment although I'm not sure what I'd have to do exactly. I wonder too what spirits would want to hang out under water?! Not that the wet bothers them anymore I suppose..!
